“Empanadas originated in Galicia, Spain in 1520, first appearing in a cookbook by Robert de Nola, the cook for King of Naples Ferdinand I. The name “Empanadas” means, to Empanar, ie. folding dough over a filling. Blox empanadas have a delicious Blox filling, a taste that’s fit for any King or Queen! Great as a snack or meal”. This recipe can be made with BLOX or any Blox burger variety.

BLOX 150g
Peppers 20g (red or yellow)
Salt 3g
Olive oil 15ml
Olives 150g
Onion 20g
Empanada bases – 8 pieces
Ground black pepper 2g
Raisins 10g

1. Cut and Stir fry
Cut the onion and fry in a saucepan with a little olive oil, then add chopped pepper, chopped olives, raisins, and BLOX. Continue cooking and stirring regularly for 5 minutes. Sauté for 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper.
2. ASSEMBLE THE EMPANADAS.
On the dough of the empanada, put 30g of the mixture and close from one end to the other. With a fork, gently press down on the edges until the dough is sealed.
3. Baking.
Put the empanadas on oven proof paper on a baking tray and bake at 170 centigrades for 8 to 15 min until the dough is cooked and goes golden brown. Remove from the oven, cool for a few minutes and serve, with a dollop of mayonnaise. These empanadas are finger-licking amazing!
